Trans Studies Working Group | Inaugural meeting
Saturday 22 November 2025, 3pm - 5pm
Seminar Room 56, Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, Oxford OX2 6AH
All welcome.
The Trans Studies Working Group is an emergent cohort of faculty, students, artists, and activists that will serve as an institutional base for trans studies at Oxford, and that seeks to nurture cross-disciplinary trans thought within and beyond the university.
Our first meeting will occur on 22 November 2025, 15:00-17:00, at Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities in response to the theme of Trans Study and Remembrance. All critical perspectives that attend to trans as analytic, methodology, orientation, or praxis, or to its intersections with critical race, gender, sexuality, and disability studies, are welcome. Assigned readings will be distributed before each meeting.
Email samir.ravi@stcatz.ox.ac.uk to join the Working Group or for additional information.
