Dr Rachel Delman
As the Heritage Partnerships Coordinator, Rachel works with individual researchers, research groups, students and professional services to nurture and develop links between the University of Oxford and external heritage sites, organisations and partners. Rachel facilitates training opportunities for Oxford researchers and staff, and she is the co-organiser of Oxford’s Heritage Pathways Seminar.
Rachel returns to Oxford—where she completed her doctorate in the History Faculty in 2017—following research fellowships at the universities of Edinburgh and York, including a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship. She has wide-ranging experience of producing research for academic, heritage and media contexts. Rachel’s prize-winning research on late medieval women’s architectural patronage has been published in several leading academic journals, and she has previously collaborated with heritage organisations, including Historic Environment Scotland and the Historic Coventry Trust, to bring medieval women’s stories to non-specialist audiences. Her monograph on elite women’s residences in late medieval and early Tudor England is forthcoming with Oxford University Press. Rachel is a fellow of both Advance HE and the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
Rachel’s role as Heritage Partnerships Coordinator combines her passion for research and heritage, and she welcomes enquiries from researchers and heritage professionals who are seeking to explore collaborative opportunities.
