Victoria McGuinness is Head of Public Engagement for the Humanities Division and her portfolio includes TORCH.
Victoria has worked in museums, archaeology, arts, and higher education for the last twenty years and has a PhD in the area of museum and cultural project management from Leicester University (School of Museum Studies). Following a varied career, Victoria also had roles as a project management and museums consultant, and worked in Greece, Spain, Portugal on archaeological and museum projects.
Before joining TORCH in 2014, Victoria was at the Ashmolean Museum as a Project Manager for seven years, working on the £61 million Redevelopment of the Ashmolean Museum, overseeing the object processing and mount-making for the 12,000 objects installed in the 35 new galleries. Victoria also managed the creation and development of the Broadway Museum in Worcestershire.
Victoria is a Trustee of MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) www.mola.org.uk, the Museum of Oxford Redevelopment Trust www.oxfordhiddenhistories.org, the British School at Athens - www.bsa.ac.uk, and she is also a Member of the International Advisory Board of CIRCUS at Uppsala University.
